Promoting Sova’s work at International Women’s Day in Derby

On the 5^th March staff and volunteers from Sova Derby ran a stall at IWD to promote our work. Support Worker, Peshva Sharif was joined by Evelina, one of our brilliant volunteers. Peshva said “Although it was a very cold day, we had a busy and fab time and we had lots of people stopping and chatting to us too”

The IWD event is annually chaired by Vanessa Boon, a long term and experienced Sova Engage volunteer...she fits her mentoring in around all her other commitments and spends a lot of time supporting on local, regional and national CSE and Action on Violence against Women and Girls issues. She recently won an Award at the Derby Inspirational Women Awards 2015/16 for her role in community organisations and community action.
