Sova BeNCH Mentoring Services
Enabling individuals to grow thrive and reconnect within their local communities.
The Sova - BeNCH CRC Mentoring Services project supports adult service users who are currently in custody, on licence or serving a community sentence in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
We recruit, train and supervise volunteer mentors from the local community who enable, encourage and support service users to make positive choices. A mentor’s aim is to aid service users in their successful reintegration into society, and reduce reoffending, supporting them in a group or one on one setting.
Our mentors can support individuals with finding a job, explaining how to put together a CV, preparing for an interview, disclosure letters, or getting new skills and qualifications. They can also help with everyday issues like relationships, isolation, independence or it could support by going along to an appointment or being around for a chat. Sometimes our service users just need someone to talk to, you could make a massive difference just by listening.
If you believe in the same values as Sova; Passion, Fairness, Focus and Integrity and could commit to giving a small amount of time each week, you could change someone’s life – even your own!
(The Sova Mentoring Services BeNCH CRC project is funded by the BeNCH)
