Sova CFO3 Mentoring East Midlands

At Sova CFO3 Mentoring East Midlands Project we find, train and support volunteer mentors across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, to help adult offenders (aged 16 years and above) move towards social inclusion and mainstream provision by addressing their multiple barriers. We support those who are serving custodial sentences, on remand, on release from prison or serving their sentence in the community or serving a community order.

Many of our service users lack confidence, have low self-esteem, lead chaotic lifestyles and have little support from family and friends. Working alongside APM staff, our mentors are there to motivate, encourage and support offenders to get the skills, qualifications and confidence they will need to address their barriers and reintegrate back into the community.

This could be by offering advice on putting together a CV, helping to find the right training or college course, taking people to appointments and interviews or simply being there for reassurance and as a trusted person to talk to.

Sova CFO3 Mentoring East Midlands Project is funded by a Co-financing Organisation of the European Social Fund and National Offender Management Service via APM.
