Volunteer Mentor - CF03 East Midlands - Leicestershire
We are recruiting and training volunteer mentors to support adult offenders (aged 16 years and above) across the East Midlands. Offenders will be serving a custodial sentence, on remand, on release from prison or serving their sentence in the community.
On behalf of Pertemps People Development Group, as a Sova volunteer mentor you will be matched with a service user who has been identified as needing support. The mentoring you could be providing is then tailored to meet the individual needs of each person referred to the project. We are looking for people who are open minded and can assist our service users by offering guidance and support to help them develop confidence and self-esteem. In addition, part of your role will be to identify and prioritise service user goals so that they can be better prepared to live in our communities safely. An important part of the volunteer role is to support a service user to access local resources and information, education, training, and employment opportunities, as well as offering a listening ear.
We offer all our volunteer mentors accredited training through Certa and we fully support and guide you throughout your voluntary role.
We are currently recruiting throughout Leicestershire. If you are over 18 years old and are interested in volunteering we would love to hear from you.
Time commitment: 1-4 hours per week
