Volunteer Mentor - SCMNE - Newcastle

We are looking to recruit and train volunteer mentors to support adults within the criminal justice system throughout the North East of England.

Working on behalf of APM our volunteer mentors are matched with adult ex-offenders identified as needing support. The Mentoring is tailored to meet the individual needs of each person referred to the project. Mentors are non-judgmental and can assist by offering guidance and support to help them develop confidence and self-esteem, and to identify their own goals to move towards social inclusion and mainstream provision. Mentors can also support with accessing local resources and information, education, training, and employment opportunities, as well as offering a listening ear.

Volunteer mentors undertake accredited training through Certa and are fully supported and guided throughout their mentoring work.

We are currently recruiting throughout the Tees Valley, within Tyne and Wear and in Durham, if you live in any of these areas, are over 18 years old and are interested in volunteering we would love to hear from you.
