Volunteer Mentor – SCL - Thamesmead

We are looking to recruit and train volunteer mentors to support adults within the criminal justice system throughout London.

Working alongside Shaw Trust our volunteer mentors are matched with adult offenders identified as needing support. The Mentoring is tailored to meet the individual needs of each person referred to the project.

Mentors are non-judgmental and can assist by offering guidance and support to help service users develop confidence and self-esteem, and to identify their own goals to move towards social inclusion and employment. Mentors can also support with accessing local resources and information, education, training, and employment opportunities, as well as offering a listening ear.

Volunteer mentors undertake accredited training through Certa and are fully supported and guided throughout their mentoring work.

We are currently recruiting throughout all of London; if you are over 18 years old and are interested in volunteering we would love to hear from you.

 

Time commitment:  1-4 hours per week
