SOVA Transform

A prison based adult education and training project.

Aim Sova are working with a new project called Transform. Our main aim is to offer support to those who have completed the Hidden Difficulty Questionnaire. The HDQ will highlight those who have a low/medium/high tendency of Dyslexia/Dyspraxia/Autism/ADHD. It will be an 18 month contract till March 2010 and we will be based in three establishments. These are HMP/YOI Drake Hall, HMP Hewell and HMYOI Brinsford. Transform will offer the following service: � Provide information on how to cope with their hidden difficulty � To develop strategies and activities that will enable them to reduce the negative impact of their hidden difficulty. � Support them to gain Employment or Training upon release � Job Club � Offer support and guidance when completing job and college application forms � Confidence building � Offering understanding of how to deal with their hidden tendency and how to manage the obstacles faced in life � A Mentor to support them whilst in custody or upon release
