The SOVA Thames Valley Project requires a Project Manager. The post of Project Manager is an established grade within SOVA. The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the management of the project, including line management of staff, management of the budget, delivery of services according to the terms of the project contract and liaison with project partners. A primary element of the project is to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers who will facilitate a range of mentoring services to offenders across Thames Valley (Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire). All duties will be carried out in line with SOVA�s current operating policies and procedures and any procedures of Thames Valley probation. The SOVA Thames Valley Project is a new scheme tailored to the areas of offending-related needs as identified in the 7 Pathways of the NOMS national reducing reoffending plan (Accommodation, Employment Training & Education, Health (mental & physical), Drugs & Alcohol, Children & Families, and Attitudes & Behaviour). The primary aim of the Project is to enhance offender rehabilitation, while reducing re-offending, through various methods of volunteer mentoring. The post holder will work closely alongside staff and sectors of the Thames Valley Probation Trust. This post is a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract which will end May 2013.
