Sova Work Routes

Work Routes is a DWP/ESF programme designed to help unemployed and economically inactive people to enter, progress in and sustain employment. It helps people to overcome multiple barriers to work through a flexible and personalised package of support. Sova will be working alongside Reed in Partnership and Supply Chain providers, APM, Groundworks, Housing Consortium, PM Training, Standguide in the Staffordshire and Stoke area. It is a voluntary programme and all advice and support we offer is free of charge.

Sova will be working with eligible members providing short interventions alongside Reed and the Supply Chain providers, supporting people through a personalised plan to develop the skills and confidence needed to move forward into positive outcomes such as training, education, effective jobsearch, employment or self-employment.

Each participant will have 5 meetings/sessions with a Sova volunteer who will address areas such as applying for a job, preparing for work, workplace rights and responsibilities, personal wellbeing, budgeting and money management, effective communication, healthy lifestyles, skills for independent living, emotional wellbeing and managing personal relationships.

Sova understands that there are many factors that can affect whether people feel ready to take the next step in their lives and the specialist help and support we can provide could be what an individual needs to reach their full potential. Experience has shown us that for people to recognise potential in themselves, they need to be able to believe they can make good decisions. They need the support from someone in their community.

Our volunteer mentors, work in the community, and are recruited, trained and supervised so that they can provide tailored mentoring support to enable and empower the member to overcome barriers. Mentors may need to support members with a number of issues including finding work or education, housing, debt solutions, completing forms, substance abuse and much more.
